Summary of Intermasz 2008

A trade fair of new technologies

The International Trade Fair of Textile, Clothes and Shoemaking Machines INTERMASZ 2008 was a venue for premieres of many new products. They included a multicolour garment printer by Brother and a laser for engraving and cutting leather, denim and other textiles. However, a truly revolutionary product was the clothing production preparation system showcased by Strima. Traditional digitisation was replaced in this system by digital photos.

Almost 100 exhibitors - producers and distributors from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, China, Taiwan and Poland came to Intermasz 2008 to offer modern production preparation systems; sewing machines: overlock machines, button machines, buttonholing machines, lockstitch machines, CNC feed-off-the-arm chainstitch machines, autolap machines by Yamamoto, Shing Ling and Siruba; ultrasound and thermal machines for producing seamless clothes; the latest solutions for ornamenting clothes with crystals, sequins, beads or ribbons; and a wide range of single- and multi-head embroidery machines. There were plenty of CNC knitting machines manufactured by Universal, Stoll and Machine Tech from Korea, alongside with braiding machines for making ropes, cords and yarns by Herzog, edging cutting machines and devices for cutting trade samples of fabrics. The presented offers included also industrial ironing machines, steam technologies, industrial irons, presses and gluing machines. Manufacturers of leather products could learn about advantages of an automatic leather cutting systems, machines and devices for production of footwear, clothes and upholstered furniture, and a pneumatic upholstery table. The majority of exhibitors offered a full range of services to their clients - from installation and start-up, up to training and after-sales support.

In spring 2008, participants of Intermasz 2008 had a unique opportunity to exchange experience and establish business contacts with exhibitors of the simultaneously held Next Season Contracting Exhibition, the Body Style Exhibition of Lingerie and Beach Fashion, the Special Days Exhibition of Wedding, First Communion and Evening Fashion, the Fair of Fabrics, Clothing and Accessories Tex-Style and the Fair of Shoes, Leather and Leather Goods. Over 9,000 visitors benefited from the synergy effect created by six adjacent trade shows.

Seminars prepared by experts and devoted to innovative technologies and light industry solutions created a unique opportunity to expand knowledge. The topics focused on apparel sewing technologies and the application of advanced interlining, application of modern IT systems that support apparel production, gaining staff for the clothing industry and using the EU funds for corporate development and logistics.

The Intermasz show held every two years was an excellent opportunity to present awards to market leaders. The Jury of the Acanthus Aureus competition for a stand with best design that is best prepared for implementing the company's marketing strategy decided to present the Acanthus Aureus Award to STRIMA from Swadzim.
